Science

Science at Brook

Our Vision for Science:

  • For all our pupils to develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena which supports their scientific learning into secondary education and beyond.
  • For all our pupils to understand the concepts and procedures that scientists use to develop understanding and explanations and seek truth.
  • For all our pupils to understand the practices of science so that they know how scientific knowledge becomes established through scientific enquiry.
  • For our pupils to have a deep understanding of the uses and significance of science to society and their own lives, including the significant contribution science has made in the past as well as value the continuing importance of science in solving global challenges – Care

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum has been mapped out over the course of a 2-year cycle, ensuring a progression of skills and knowledge with no gaps nor unnecessary repetition.  In Early Years, pupils begin to build the foundations needed to access the KS1 curriculum, as well as learn through ‘Understanding the World.’

We follow the Kent Scheme for Primary Science.
